Vories Brings Innovative Hair Transplant Technique to Lowcountry - Read More

Mount Pleasant, SC - Vories Medical Group recently opened in its new headquarters in this affluent suburb of Charleston. Founded by Michael Vories, M.D., a board-certified physician and surgeon, the clinic specializes in the Transfollic Technique, which Vories claims is the most advanced method of hair transplantation yet developed.

A hair transplant patient himself, Dr. Vories is familiar with both patient and physician points of view. I developed the Transfollic Technique to give thinning and balding patients a fast, safe and reliable means to regain their own natural-looking hair, and enjoy the social and vocational advantages it brings, he said.

The Transfollic Technique, available only from the Vories Medical Group, is a unique and proprietary series of up to four procedures beginning after an initial consultation. The treatments take place over 8 to 16 weeks, using the patients own hair. As a result of years of surgical experience and my extensive study of hair transplant methods worldwide, I have been able to develop a method which combines a technological breakthrough with proven transplantation protocols, explained Dr. Vories.

Each procedure is completed in three to four hours during which time up to 20,000 hair follicles are transferred, compared to the average 2000 per session with other methods. The course of treatment involves one to four procedures over a period of up to 16 weeks. Patients can expect to see results immediately and final benefits within three months.

Performed by a team of four: Dr. Vories, a registered nurse and two surgical assistants, the Transfollic Technique usually requires only a local anesthetic, so patients are fully conscious throughout the procedure. It eliminates lengthy healing times associated with other transplant methods. No bandages are required after treatment and patients are able to leave the clinic wearing a baseball cap.

The Vories Medical Group is currently accepting new patients at their clinic, located at 498 Wando Park Boulevard in Mount Pleasant. For further information on the Transfollic Technique, or to schedule a complimentary consultation with Dr. Vories, call 843.884.1258 or toll-free at 800.599.7762.

Follicular Unit Extraction - Read More

We are getting more patients requesting follicular unit extraction. We have performing this procedure since 2004, and we are encouraging more of our patients to explore this new way of extracting hair follicles. This procedure does not leave the linear donor scar that is seen with traditional "strip" harvesting, and is becoming our preferred method of obtaining donor tissue.
